We Have Band are three ex-record label employees from London who, with little previous experience, decided to make a record without wasting time on record deals. A buzz was created and, two years on, we have WHB. The album belies its DIY roots with sleek, tight production that has dancefloors in mind. Talking Heads are an obvious influence, and with the mix of vocalists it's hard not to think of Hot Chip, but lyrically the trio lack the imaginative verve that make those bands worth imitating. That said, there is good stuff here: "How to Make Friends" is a stand-out.
