The first of Robyn's three Body Talk albums, released last June, took the eccentricities that surfaced on 2005's Robyn and inflated them. This was the sound of a Swedish pop star refusing to conform – one song was called "Don't Fucking Tell Me What to Do". To those drawn to Robyn for her oddball behaviour, Part 2 begins disappointingly with a trio of routine pop numbers. Things improve a great deal when she switches into hip-hop mode and makes the case for a black, female pope. As rap boasts go, "Even the Vatican knows better than to fuck with me" is very hard to top.
